Lay Readers

Lay Readers read the Lessons or Psalm during a public service.  But, unlike a Lector, Lay Readers are licensed by the Bishop and must be a confirmed member who regularly attends and supports the church.  Lay Readers are licensed to lead Morning or Evening Prayer in the absence of the Clergy as well.  Historically, Lay Readers have also taught catechism.  If you have interest in becoming licensed as a Lay Reader, contact St. David’s at or  at (360) 426-8472
