Altar Guild

As with all ministries, the work of the Altar Guild is a labor of love.   The people of the Altar Guild serve God by preparing the Altar for all services.  Members change the candles, wash and iron the linens, arrange the flowers, polish the silver, and vest the altar for the occassion. Should you be interested in …

Eucharistic Ministers assist in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.  A Eucharistic Minister is licensed by the Bishop at the request of the Priest to administer the Sacrament at any celebration of the Holy Eucharist in the event they are needed.  The Eucharistic Visitor also carries the Sacrament to people unable to be present at the …

Lay Readers

Lay Readers read the Lessons or Psalm during a public service.  But, unlike a Lector, Lay Readers are licensed by the Bishop and must be a confirmed member who regularly attends and supports the church.  Lay Readers are licensed to lead Morning or Evening Prayer in the absence of the Clergy as well.  Historically, Lay Readers have …

Ushers and Greeters

Ushers and Greeters are the “welcoming committee” of the church.  They greet and welcome everyone to the services.  They invite in newcomers, visitors, as well as long time parishoners, hand out the Sunday Bulletins, and show the way to seating and to the various rooms within the church.
